Get-Away Travels

Trevor and I went on our honeymoon to Jackson Hole. We had quite a good time kicking back and finally relaxing after the past couple weeks. Weddings are stressful. :) We rode the Tram, did some hiking, lots of eating, site seeing, and gallery viewing. We were also supposed to go white water rafting the last night, but unfortunately an insane wind storm blew in and we decided not to go out on the river in the wind, rain, and lighting. Anyways, I just wanted to share a little of our travels with you!

We did our hiking up on the mountain the Tram took us to (I'm sorry, but I don't remember names of in-animate objects). While hiking we found very weird masses of lady bugs. We weren't sure if they were mating grounds (how symbolic to find that on our honeymoon), or if it was a hatching nest or something. To be honest it kind of creeped me out. They were disgusting! Crawling all over each other and landing on us and such. Yuck! Well, here is what it looked like. We found about 5 of these as we were walking, and I'm sure we missed a large majority. This was actually the smallest colony we saw.

Isn't this just gross? And you can't even see them squirming and crawling everywhere.

And just because you always have to take pictures of people jumping, we took pictures of us jumping, and you can see Jackson Hole Valley (or whatever it's called) in the background. Don't worry, we made sure to be a safe distance from the edge.

(I do have to admit that this is my fist jumping picture)

(we set the camera on a timer for this picture)
(I have to tell you this because I knew you were worried someone else was there taking pictures of us) ;)

(this is a picture of the Tram on it's way up, while we were on our way down)
(the heights kind of scared me)

We also went into Teton National Forest and walked a ways around Jenny's Lake. We had our lunch/breakfast overlooking this part of the lake. It's a very pretty lake, about 3 miles to walk to the other side, but they also have a ferry to take you over if you'd like to pay money. We didn't take the ferry. And we didn't walk all the way around. We were exhausted haha. Exercise has been lacking in our daily schedule.

And of course, we had to get a picture by the antlers, because everyone needs one of those pictures. :)
We really enjoyed the galleries in this part of town, although, once you've seen like 2 or 3, you've pretty much seen the majority of the pictures in all of them (there was probably 12 galleries on this one block). We also got some expensive ice cream to eat. Honey Lemon is what I had. Pretty good I thought.

And that is that! Our wonderful honeymoon. It was fun, although I have to be honest. Settling into reality was just as fun, and lasts much longer. :)
